2025 Summer Board of Directors Meeting

President Duane Jolibois called the meeting to order at 11:50 AM. Jacob Roberts led the opening prayer.

II. Reading of Minutes
Terrell motioned to forego minutes, with a second by Justin. Motion passed.
III. Old Business
There was no old business.
IV. New Business
Camper fee information was not consistent across our social media. Corrections are being made.
2026 Camp Weeks, Corporation meeting, retreat scheduling.
Jr. Week 7-12 June 2026 Heath Chatman will direct. Justin Simmons will be assistant
Jr. Hi Week 21-26 June 2026 Jacob Roberts will direct, and Ben Myers will be assistant
Sr. Week 12-17 July 2026 Terrell Guillory will direct, and Tim Carter will assist.
The 2026 Corporation/Board of directors meeting will be held at Ingallwood Park on July 18, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM.
The 2025 Jr./Jr. Hi Fall Retreat will be held on 24-26 October 2025 at CYE. Age group will be 8-14 years old. It will be sponsored by the LeCompte Church of Christ and will be directed by Jacob Roberts.
The 2025 Senior Retreat will be November 7-9, 2025.
The Mid-Winter Board of Directors Meeting will be held at the Denham Springs Church of Christ on Saturday, 28 February,2026 at 9:00AM.
There will not be a marriage retreat scheduled for 2025. Will revisit for future date.
Work Day will be scheduled for May 16, 2026.

There being no further business, Greg Trahan, with a second from Bryan McGee, moved to adjourn. Motion passed.

II. Reading of Minutes
1) Minutes of the 2024 Winter Board Meeting were read. The motion was made by Terrell Guillory and seconded by Jamie Roberts to approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.
2) Minutes of the Summer Board Meeting were read for informational purposes.
III. Financial Report
1) The financial report was presented by Justin.

Heath Chatman motioned to approve the financial report as given, with a 2 nd from Greg Trahan. Motion carried.
IV. Old Business
1) The need for lifeguards was discussed. Aubrey Guillory suggested using social media to communicate this need to member churches.
V. New Business – Lesson Plans
1) 2025 Camp Directors presented the lesson plans for the upcoming camping season.
2) Lessons were discussed at length. The board commended the directors for their efforts in their work. The motion to accept plans/themes was made by Mike Abbott with a second by Bryan McGee. Motion carried.
3) Ben Myers was designated Assistant Director for Junior Week.
4) Marriage Retreat will be September 19-21.
5) The need for increased revenue was discussed.
Camper Fee Adjustment: In accordance with the plan to make gradual adjustments to camper fees, the 2025 camper fee was raised to $250.00/week.
a. Teen worker fees will adjust to $125.00/week
b. The weekly rental rate will continue at $5000/week.
c. Retreat fees will continue at $90/weekend.
Fund-Raisers: Member churches will be encouraged to sponsor funder raisers for the camp.
6) Jacob Roberts reviewed plans for a walk path between the boy’s cabin area and Bundick Creek.
The property owner has given permission. A walk path will be cleared on CYE property only, until approval by our insurance carrier regarding “off-property” liability.
7) Greg expressed gratitude for CYE family’s love after the passing of Melva Ledoux.
8) A brochure from Indiana camp was shared with the group. An e-copy is also available.
9) Tanya Chatman is working on a marketing packet to be shared at schools and civic organizations.
10) Terrell Guillory, Heath Chatman, and Ben Myers agreed to work as a committee to address how teen workers are chosen for Junior and Junior High Weeks.
a. The goal is to have our teen workers vetted and recommended by home churches.
b. Workers will be chosen by directors.
c. Online worker registration will be provided.
11) There will be dedicated classes for girl teen-workers to address how Christian Women are to behave in today’s world.
